Ian & Harvey - Dauntsey
Harvey is a very shy and nervous chap and I have always found it problematic to go away because when I have put him in a cattery he has almost always reacted badly and fallen ill with cystitis. Matters have recently got even worse as he now also has a thyroid problem for which he requires a special diet.
I have been using Rudi,s Pet Services (on recommendation) for nearly two of years now and ever since Aileen started looking after Harvey when I’m away, things have improved dramatically. I no longer have any concerns about him being stressed because I know he is in his home environment and will get lots of love and fuss when Aileen visits. I have just been away for three weeks, which is the longest I have ever left him and Aileen kept in touch via text just to let me know that all was well at home, I even had a photo of a very chilled and contented Harvey. When I got home, I had a lovely welcome from Harvey with lots of purring and not the slightest hint of a sulk for leaving him on his own, which was always the case with catteries. It was lovely to see just how relaxed he was. I would never consider putting him through the stress and upheaval of a cattery again because it just doesn’t work for him.
I am extremely grateful to Aileen for looking after Harvey so well and letting me relax and enjoy my holidays knowing he is at home, being looked after and happy.
Diane & Bracken - Sutton Beneger
I am disabled & am unable to take my dog for a walk. My carer can only manage 3-4 times a week so Aileen takes her for the rest.
Bracken, my dog, is a lot better behaved since Aileen started taking her for walks. Bracken is a 'mummy's girl' but she goes off cheerfully & willingly with Aileen.
I am an old lady & nothing is too much trouble for Aileen. She works very hard but she still has time for me. She is very reliable, trustworthy & honest, nothing is ever too much trouble.
Sarah & Lolly - Bristol
Once I had been approved to adopt Lolly a 7 month old rescued Boxer I asked Aileen for advice to help make Lolly’s transition to her new home as smooth as possible. Once Lolly was settled in and happy in her new home thanks to Aileen’s advice and pointers we were back in touch with her for help with Lolly’s recall and lead pulling.
We had a consultation with Aileen and after spending time with Lolly and ourselves she gave us a training programme which we worked on at home. Lolly responded excellently to the programme which was positive reward based. Through Aileen’s clear and helpful approach Lolly’s recall and lead work has come along excellently. Aileen was patient and understanding and always on hand with knowledgeable answers to my questions. Thank you Aileen for helping Lolly and us!!
Jo, Joe, Kayleigh & Ken - Bristol
When we took on our second dog Kayleigh, we had only had our other rescue staffie Ken for three months, so he was still settling into his new home himself and we had a few teething problems. They had initially seemed to get on fine, but a few days after Kayleigh joined us she pushed in a bit when Ken was having a cuddle and he took offence and had a bit of a go at her. It was only a minor spat, which didn't last long at all, but it was quite upsetting, and made us concerned that we could have ongoing problems.
We immediately turned to Aileen for behaviour advice on how best to manage the situation and settle Kayleigh in without putting Ken's nose further out of joint. It was apparent from the start that Kayleigh really liked Ken, she would often lie next to him with her head resting on him and he didn't seem to mind. Our main fear was that something might happen while we were out to make them have a disagreement.
Working with Aileen really helped to relieve our concerns and settle the two dogs in together. We did have a couple more 'incidents' but they were really just 'shouting' at each other and snapping and didn't result in any injuries thankfully. Within about three weeks everything had settled down and they were the best of friends. Thank you so much for your help and support Aileen. There was a point when I worried we'd made a mistake taking Kayleigh on as our flat really didn't have the potential to be split into two if they never got on, so your faith and encouragement was a huge relief.
Maddy & Frankie - London
Aileen from Rudi's Pet Services has a natural empathy and understanding with dogs. She took charge of my beloved Frankie at really short notice and from the first introduction he settled in and was very relaxed even though he had never met her before. I can highly recommend Aileen: she is flexible and confident with all aspects of pet care as well as behaviour training and dog psychology. When she looked after my dog he came back with some extra training tricks! Aileen's heart is in dog rescue and her passion shows an intuitive understanding of how to create a harmonious confident environment for the animals in her care. I look forward to using her services again and would highly recommend her to anyone who needs pet care.
Jeff & Biscuit - Chippenham
We used Rudi's Pet Services for the first time recently and Aileen made a courtesy visit to meet us and our Retriever called Biscuit
Aileen was both friendly and professional and put us at ease immediately
All agreed items were carried out to the letter and communications were first class
I have no hesitation in recommending Aileen to take care of your canine needs.
Dr Butler, Bill & Ted - Lyneham
I have had the pleasure of working with Aileen for 5 months now. Aileen walks my dogs Bill and Ted for an hour Mon-Fri because a change in my work commitments meant I couldn't devote the time they needed. Apart from being energetic terriers needing lots of exercise, over the past year they also developed sibling aggression ending up in fights on a weekly and at worst daily basis. The seriousness of their fights meant it had got to the stage of potentially having to re-home one of them. Aileen’s training in dog behaviour and her experience working with aggressive dogs gave me confidence to entrust my boys into her care. Since working with Aileen my dogs and I have never looked back. Aileen physically as well as mentally exhausts my boys, which means in the evenings now they are both truly worn out and relaxed (hoorah!). Fights now occur very few and far between. Due to the tips and training Aileen has given me to deal with their aggressive behaviour, if a situation or potential situation arises I can now spot it and manage it, resolving it before it dangerously escalates. I have found Aileen to be professional, reliable and very supportive. Most importantly, my boys adore her!
Hanna, Mark & the gang!
We have been working with Aileen since October of 2013 after being badly let down by our previous dog walker. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise!
Initially we wanted Aileen to walk our 3 dogs, Joy (9 year old greyhound), Rumple (15 year old whippet x greyhound) and our newest addition Layla (2 year old Doberman). However, we soon came to rely on Aileen’s behavioural expertise very quickly! We had rehomed Layla last October aged 14 months and she came with a whole host of issues! The poor thing was a nervous wreck. However, Aileen worked with us and we now have a much calmer, happy pooch (although still work in progress!) and we have also learned loads about how to recognise and deal with the behavioural issues we have faced.
We very much rely on Aileen’s support with the dogs. Joy, Rumple and Layla love Aileen coming round and are especially pleased that she introduced us to the wonder of Kongs!
